Healthy Starts for Kids

Children, who on a daily basis drink natural fruit juice void of synthetic flavouring and preservatives, are shown to have the best health among their peers, according to the results of a research study conducted by the Louisiana State University.

The analyzed statistics from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (2003-2006) showed and confirmed that children under the age of 5 who habitually consumed natural fruit juice had comparatively superior nutrient levels, specially vitamin c, potassium, and magnesium, than those who did not include natural fruit juice in their daily diets.

The researchers also discovered that in comparison to other children, these children had lower amounts of sugar in their bloodstream and benefited from a better quality of health.

At the Experimental Biology conference, where the study was presented, lead researcher Dr Carol O'Neil stated that “One hundred per cent fruit juice plays an important role in the diets of children and teens, supplying important nutrients during a key period of growth and development. Drinking 100 percent juice should be encouraged as part of an overall balanced diet”
